Pastor Raney Antoine and First Lady Carla Antoine

About Pastor Raney Antoine

With over twenty-five years in ministry, Elder Raney Antoine, Sr. has functioned in many facets of ministry, including membership, discipleship, stewardship, and leadership.  He serves as Senior Pastor and Pioneer of New Life Family Worship Center of Boutte, Louisiana.

Raney was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was one of seven children of the union of the late Ennis and Yvonne Antoine.  He attended Jefferson Parish public schools and graduated from John Ehret High School with honors.  Inspired by his love of academics, he accepted a scholarship at the University of New Orleans and later transferred to Our Lady of Holy Cross College to complete a Bachelor of Science in Allied Health.

Raney received  a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling (Magna Cum Laude) Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (LBTS) in Lynchburg, Virginia in September 2010.  He is married to the former Carla Marie Smith of New Orleans, Louisiana and has three children, Raney Jr., Kayla, and Y’vonne.

Reared in New Orleans in the 1960’s and 70’s, Raney states that his father was a hard worker, strong disciplinarian, and was wise beyond his years. He gained his strong work ethic from the experiences of a strict Christian upbringing.  His father, who served as a church Deacon, Financial Secretary, Associate Minister, and finally Senior Pastor of Greater King Solomon Family Worship Center, instilled in him the value of hard work and putting God first.  As a result, Raney grew up in ministry as a Jr. Deacon at New Zion BC on Garden Road in Marrero.   He was called into ministry in the fall of 1984.  After years of faithful service at New Zion, he joined Greater King Solomon on July 12, 1991 (a new ministry pioneered by his father).  On December 13, 1998, Raney was licensed to preach the Gospel and was Ordained on February 13, 2000.   Under the leadership of Pastor Ennis Antoine, Sr. he served as Head Deacon, Co- Pastor, Youth Pastor,  Director General, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Study Teacher, Executive Director for IDO (Individuals Developing Others) a 501c (3) nonprofit organization pioneered with his parents and wife.

Starting with just a few family members, Greater King was a small church housed in a wooden building located in Marrero, Louisiana.  The ministry grew under the leadership of his father and within five years, the congregation purchased 6 lots (the future church site), a church van, and multi-media equipment.  Before his departure to become Senior Pastor, Pastor Raney Antoine assisted his father in building a brand new custom designed sanctuary with spacious offices and classrooms.  It was during these formative years that God was preparing him for his assignment to pioneer New Life Family Worship Center.

Raney retired as a Licensed Respiratory Therapist at West Jefferson Medical Center in 2006 to devote more time to God and Ministry while serving as Senior Pastor of Mount Airy Baptist Church for three years.  On January 18, 2009, New Life Family Worship Center of Boutte was born.

New Life Family Worship Center has and continues to be a blessing and a joy to nurture and watch God’s maturity unfold.  The flock has embraced many facets of kingdom building and has been a tremendous blessing to the body of Christ.  They have been and remain a priceless jewel!  The vision mandated for the ministry is to “Change Lives and Strengthen Families”.  Through this vision, many families have been restored, lives have been changed, people have been saved and baptized, and the work has just begun.

At New Life, we are continuing to build God’s Kingdom by harvesting souls and worshipping God without Limits!  “My prayer is that we continue denying ourselves with a constant focus on Christ and lifting Him higher.  Galatians 2:20 says, ‘I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me’”.   Raney really loves the Lord and his most rewarding accolade is that he’s a Servant of the Lord!

Raney was appointed as a biographical candidate into the Cambridge and Metropolitan’s Who’s Who Among Christian Leaders and Professionals and was confirmed on May 5, 2007.  He was recognized for his continual work in the community and his devotion to improving academic standards of young people.  He considers his greatest accomplishments as being a loving husband and father.

Throughout his life and ministry, Pastor Antoine has demonstrated a caliber of leadership well beyond his years. Recognized as a man from humble beginnings, he is a teacher, humanitarian, philanthropist, businessman, community volunteer,  author, and pastor.
